About Fleurette Gin

From New Alchemy Distilling…

“Fleurette is our exploration of floral and citrus qualities in gin. Eleven distinct flowers and other botanicals are blended with the most subtle and fragrant juniper berries. Fleurette is distinctly aromatic, with delicate aromas evoking a sense of sweetness in this dry gin. We like to include Fleurette in pre-Prohibition cocktails such as the Aviation, the Last Word, or the French 75, although its refined complexity also works on ice as a sipping gin.”

At New Alchemy Distilling, we are passionate about bringing new perspectives to classic spirits. Distiller-owned and operated, we are personally involved in every step from recipe development to distillation and bottling. Our distillery began as an idea in a research laboratory, where our two founders first met, and that idea has since evolved into a small business, engaging additional members of our families. We combine both artistic and highly technical skillsets to develop new approaches to traditional spirits. Our vodka and gin use neutral spirit distilled in-house from local wine, resulting in subtle flavors distinct from those found in grain-based products. Our vodka undergoes a proprietary technique to further purify the spirit until it is bright and crisp. The botanicals in our gins are hand sorted, weighed, and ground, then precisely extracted by vapor-path distillation using a unique still we designed and built.

We believe that everything we make is an expression of ourselves; we each taste every new batch, no matter how small, in order to make sure that everything we bottle is something we can be proud of. From all of us at the New Alchemy Distilling family, we invite you to Drink Something New®.

1
00:00:00,960 –> 00:00:06,240
Hi there I’m Suzanne and this is Evan and we’re
here today from The Crafty Cask to tell you all

2
00:00:06,240 –> 00:00:12,360
about new Alchemy Distilling’s Fleurette Gin gin can be
made in a few different ways infusing the flavors

3
00:00:12,360 –> 00:00:17,640
and aromas can be done either by steeping or
via vapory distillation or a combination of both

4
00:00:17,640 –> 00:00:25,740
Fleurette uses vapor distillation additionally
the spirit that they use as the base is made

5
00:00:25,740 –> 00:00:31,260
from distilled wine which is relatively uncommon
in the world absolutely they distill it in-house

6
00:00:32,100 –> 00:00:34,680
should we give this a smell and a taste yeah

7
00:00:38,640 –> 00:00:42,960
so I’m getting some nice aromas of white flowers
some Jasmine some honeysuckle a little bit of

8
00:00:42,960 –> 00:00:51,420
like a little bit of tea and I’m from Arizona I
smell desert after the rain ah interesting this is

9
00:00:51,420 –> 00:00:58,920
like he’s a professional taster coming up sage
perhaps okay and I’m tasting it what I really love

10
00:00:58,920 –> 00:01:04,260
about this gin is that it’s subtle so it’s subtle
in the Botanicals and then the flowers that come

11
00:01:04,260 –> 00:01:09,900
through I tend to shy away from things that are
really big on the Botanicals so this is a perfect

12
00:01:09,900 –> 00:01:15,360
gin for me with that subtlety I’m really liking
the richness of the palate I probably would

13
00:01:15,360 –> 00:01:21,240
attribute that to the base being grapes or wine as
opposed to grain or some other kind of distillate

14
00:01:22,140 –> 00:01:27,720
um yeah very well integrated nice balance yeah
this would be wonderful in some classic cocktails

15
00:01:28,740 –> 00:01:35,880
um maybe a Gin Rickey I think that brightness of
the lime zest would really kind of uh buoy the

16
00:01:35,880 –> 00:01:42,360
Botanicals and the floral components and then
that texture the mouth feel um could be offset

17
00:01:42,360 –> 00:01:47,520
by the soda water yeah absolutely you know another
thing that I’m thinking about that I like this gin

18
00:01:47,520 –> 00:01:52,260
is it’s light on that Juniper flavor so I feel
like a lot of people shy away from gin because

19
00:01:52,260 –> 00:01:56,220
they think they all taste like Christmas trees I
tended to be one of those people for a very long

20
00:01:56,220 –> 00:02:02,040
time as well but with a craft Kind of revolution
a lot of Gins now are very well balanced and while

21
00:02:02,040 –> 00:02:05,820
of course they definitely still have Juniper
in there as one of the prominent notes the

22
00:02:05,820 –> 00:02:09,720
balance of the florals and mechanicals that come
through on this the Juniper kind of takes a back

23
00:02:09,720 –> 00:02:15,420
seat for me I really enjoy that in my gyms
well let’s go mix up some cocktails and uh

24
00:02:16,020 –> 00:02:21,000
if you’re trying the Fleurette Gin from New Alchemy
on Distilling or any of their other Spirits

25
00:02:21,000 –> 00:02:25,680
for that matter of any of a great aquavit we
hope you like them as much as we do cheers cheers
