Traditional Hot Toddy
I don’t know about you, but when I’m not feeling well there’s nothing like a traditional hot toddy. It’s soothing and fortifying all in one.
So why do we relegate it to only times when we’re unwell? Who knows…but this traditional hot toddy will change your perspective on that. And if you make enough of the spiced syrup then you can be sipping through traditional hot all winter long. Lucky you!
Let’s Get Stirrin’
½ oz meyer lemon juice
½ oz spiced syrup, recipe below
2 oz whiskey (we used Corbin Cash Blended Whiskey)
2 oz hot water
Stir ingredients together. Garnish with dehydrated lemon slices and enjoy your traditional hot toddy, hopefully when you’re feeling just fine!.
Spiced syrup recipe
12 oz wildflower honey
12 oz water
4 cinnamon sticks
5 star anise
6 allspice berries
Small handful cloves
Peel from 1 lemon
Bring ingredients to a boil, turn off heat, remove the lemon peel and let sit until cooled.
…but am I going to like it?
