Fall Spritz Cider Cocktail
It’s the day before Thanksgiving, I’m feeling well prepared. Everything that can be prepared early is ready to go, the turkey has been brining for two days, and I’m stocked with lots of great craft booze.
But what, about a cocktail to welcome people as they arrive? Since I’ll be in the craziness of cooking I want it to be easy, delicious, and appropriately seasonal. Ideally something I can make a big batch of so all I have to do is pour before answering the door.
Fall Cider Spritz to the rescue! I love this cocktail because it only has 3 ingredients, yet it’s incredibly complex while also being refreshing. Complex due to the layers of botanicals in the amaro and the naturally funky quality of Spanish style ciders. Refreshing because of the bubbles and relatively low alcohol content compared to other cocktails. Oh, and the amaro is great for getting your belly ready for a big meal too! This is one cocktail I’ll be sipping all season long…
Let’s Get Stirrin’
Pour amaro and cider into a small pitcher filled with ice and stir to combine.
Pour into two coupe glasses and garnish with orange twist.
